If you open one of the system components or templates then you will notice that the OK button is disabled (greyed out). This means that any changes you make will not be saved. DesignBuilder prevents you from editing system components and templates but you can instead make a copy of the data using the clone toolbar icon and edit the copy as required then save and select it.
