Is gravity accounted for in DesignBuilder CFD calculations?

Modified on Mon, 2 Dec at 4:33 PM

DesignBuilder CFD adopts the Boussinesq approximation whereby the flow is assumed incompressible with the exception of the v-momentum equation, which incorporates a gravitational term to simulate buoyancy. This term is the product of gravity and the difference between the cell density and a reference density. It is the only term that incorporates gravity.
