MRT calculation with component block without boundary conditions

Modified on Tue, 8 Jul at 2:42 PM

How is the MRT (Mean Radiant Temperature) calculated in CFD when component blocks are drawn in the domain if the components have no boundary condition?

If the component block temperature hasn’t been set explicitly, the assumption is that the component block surfaces are at the mean room temperature.

In DB CFD, the temperatures displayed are air temperatures only and the surface temperatures are not included.

You may include more cells near the object surface but these will still be air temperature near the surface and not surface temperature.
