How to view solar radiation incident on a surface

Modified on Thu, 10 Aug, 2023 at 1:00 PM

On the Edit screen go to the surface for which data is required and on the "Options" tab under the "Simulation Output Options" header check the "Store surface output" check box and then the "Solar Incident" check box. This will ensure that this data is generated during the simulation. Then on the Simulation screen after the simulation is complete you will be able to view the solar radiation incident on the surface by navigating that surface.

The same approach is taken for generating other surface-level output data including:

  • Inside and Outside surface temperatures
  • Internal and External convection coefficients
  • Surface gain to room
  • Solar transmission (windows only)
  • External sunlit fraction
  • Airflow in and out
