It can at times be useful to have access to more than one version of DesignBuilder, for example during the transition period between old and the new building regulations, or when needing access to beta and release versions. Unfortunately, there is currently no way that 2 versions of DesignBuilder can be installed on the same operating system at once. There are however other options:
- The ideal solution would be, if you have more than one computer, simply install one version on one computer and the other version on the other.
- Install a virtual machine (VM) on your computer and install the old version of DesignBuilder on the VM and the new version on the host computer.
- If you only rarely need to work on the old version then it is possible to install the old version only when needed and then uninstall it and reinstall the new version as and when required. Inconvenient perhaps, but uninstall-install cycles only take a few minutes.
