To determine the total heat rejection from chillers in EnergyPlus, you can use the Summary Report feature. This provides a straightforward way to view both annual totals and peak values related to condenser heat transfer.
Steps to Access the Data
1. Run your simulation in EnergyPlus or through DesignBuilder.
2. Open the Summary Report in the simulation results.
3. Navigate to:
- Energy Meters > Annual and Peak Values - Other table.
4. Locate the entry for Chiller Condenser Heat Transfer Rate.
Understanding the Output
- Chiller Condenser Heat Transfer Rate: This meter reports the amount of heat rejected from the chiller. Depending on the system setup, it represents heat rejection to either:
- A condenser water loop, or
- An air-cooled condenser.
- The table provides both annual totals (sum over the year) and peak values (maximum instantaneous rejection rate).
- The values represent the combined heat rejection from all condenser units included in the model.
