Radiant Heating and Cooling

Modified on Thu, 6 Jun at 4:05 PM

In DesignBuilder you can model a wide range of radiant heating and cooling systems along with radiant surfaces, be it radiant walls, ceilings, floors, or even cooled beams. You can model heating, cooling, or changeover systems and even simulate surfaces with buried electric heating elements.

These radiant systems can be connected to hot and chilled water loops fed by boilers, chillers, district heating/cooling or GSHP systems.

You can learn the basics of setting up radiant systems with Detailed HVAC (heated floors) in the free video tutorial here:

Also, on our DesignBuilder Online Training page, there is a detailed training video on Heat Exchangers and Radiant Surfaces which explains the setting up of the system. When there, scroll down to the end and you can purchase select training packages or individual modules and fast-track your DesignBuilder learning.
