The usual reason for these errors is that the partitions between “included” and “excluded” zones are modelled using adiabatic boundary condition, but some of these surfaces in the model have openings in them. EnergyPlus doesn't allow this.

Zones are excluded by unchecking the “Include in thermal calculations” option on the Activity tab.

There are 2 ways to resolve this issue:

1. Include any zones in the thermal calculation that were excluded and have openings to included zones.
2. Delete any openings between included and excluded zones.
