Why can't I install DesignBuilder on my computer?

Administrator Access Required for Installing DesignBuilder

To successfully install DesignBuilder, you must be logged into your computer with Administrator privileges. Without these permissions, the installation may fail and the software will not function correctly.

DesignBuilder requires access to system-level resources during installation. If you're logged in as a standard user, you may encounter error messages or incomplete setup, preventing the software from running properly.

Follow these steps to verify your account privileges:

  1. Click Start and open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Control Panel > User Accounts (or Users and Passwords, depending on your Windows version).
  3. Locate your username in the list.
  4. Check the Group or Account Type column:
  • If it says Administrators or Computer Administrator, you're good to go.
  • If it says Standard User or anything else, you’ll need assistance.

If your account doesn’t have administrator rights:

  • Contact your IT department or system administrator.
  • Ask them to either:
  • Grant you temporary administrator access, or
  • Install DesignBuilder on your behalf.
