Designbuilder main window is not visible

Modified on Thu, 6 Jun at 4:31 PM

Issue:

DesignBuilder process is running but the program's main window screen is not displayed.

Solution:

This issue is most likely to happen on large screen resolutions or/and when using dual screens. Here's a summary of the steps required to fix the window display issue:

1. Close the DesignBuilder session. Because the DesignBuilder main window isn’t visible the best way to do this is usually by stopping the process using Task Manager,

2. Type regedit on the Microsoft Windows search bar,
3. Open Registry and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DesignBuilder\Init
4. Change the Left, Widht, Height, and Top key values to 1000,
5. Finally, start a new DesignBuilder session.

Please note that you will need to select the variable and then right-click to display the Modify option. Then change the value to 1000.

If after the steps above the main window is not displayed then with DesignBuilder closed change also the WindowState key to 0.

Finally, start a new DesignBuilder session.
