The run-time error -2147417848 (also known as 0x80010108) is a COM (Component Object Model) error that typically indicates an issue related to threading COM components. This error, often referred to as RPC_E_DISCONNECTED, occurs when a COM object, particularly one that communicates across threads or processes, loses its connection or context.
To fix this problem please follow the steps below to clear the DesignBuilder library Data folder in the user's local space.
1. If you haven't done so already, set your Folder Options so you can see hidden files, folders, and drives:
In Windows 10:
a) Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
b) Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
c) Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
In Windows 11:
a) Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
b) Select View > Show > Hidden items.
2. With DesignBuilder closed, navigate to:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\DesignBuilder\Data
3. Delete the Data folder and all subfolders.
4. Start a new DesignBuilder session and load your model.
