Setting up Proxy server user details at License Manager

Modified on Fri, 28 Jun at 12:25 PM

DesignBuilder will pass the username and password credentials to authenticate the user on the proxy server, in the format user:password.
For example, if username is "joe" and password is "joes_password" it will be joe:joes_password
Note that RLM activation supports only the BASIC authentication type.

If communications issues are found then the network firewall may be preventing the communication.
In this case the network administration will need to review the network configuration.
  • Firewall Rules: The firewall might have rules that allow direct communication, bypassing the proxy. Ensure that the firewall rules enforce the use of the proxy server.
  • Proxy Autoconfiguration: Some networks use a Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) file or Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Protocol (WPAD) to automatically configure proxy settings. Make sure these are set up correctly and that the system is using them.
The issue likely comes from either misconfiguration or overriding settings/policies that bypass the proxy server.
By systematically verifying the configurations and checking the traffic flow, will help to identify and resolve the issue.
